The step angle is that angle which the motor shaft rotates with one control pulse to the power stage. For most stepper motors with 50 pole pairs the step angle is 1.8°; in the full step mode. With micro step driving the step angle can be reduced to 0.9°; in the half step mode and e.g. to 0.0035° in the 1/512 step mode.
